For decades Condley has called Abilene home. That’s why we’re proud to now call the historic Grant Building downtown our home base. Built in 1931, this local landmark once buzzed with shoppers looking for goods at the W.T. Grant Merchandise Company.
Following the store’s move in 1963, the building experienced stints as various businesses, including law firms, an investment office, and a restaurant. Despite the many changes over the years that erased much of the historic character, we still recognized its timeless beauty. Partnering with local architects, we carefully restored original features like the original limestone stairs and store-era lobby ceilings, creating a space that reflects our commitment to heritage as well as our penchant for thoughtful innovation.
Among our many area partners is the Center for Contemporary Arts. We work with them to commission artwork produced by local artists that we then showcase in our one-of-a-kind collection that highlights the beauty and offerings of Abilene and West Texas at large.
